Shift Your Shopping

PV Local First is again joining in the National Shift Your Shopping campaign. Shift Your Shopping encourages the people and businesses of Western Mass to make a "Shift" by buying more from local, independent businesses for this Christmas and Holiday Season instead of shopping so much online or at chain stores. Shift Your Shopping offers a simple, powerful way to boost our economy and preserve and create jobs in our local communities.

The campaign encourages residents to take job creation and economic concerns into our own hands by exercising our power to strengthen our own local economies.

To exemplify how a shift in shopping is a gift to our community, over the past few years PVLF and its members partnered with Community Involved in Sustaining Agriculture (CISA) and the Food Bank of Western Mass. in 2011, PV Local First coordinated a "Think Local, Thank Local" effort to donate to CISA's Emergency Farm Fund to assist those farmers who were affected by Tropical Storm Irene and in 2012 many of our members donated to the Food Bank of Western Mass.
